Research shows that animal therapy and mindfulness activities, which can be achieved through farming and animal interaction and care, are desirable means of refocusing and rechanneling the energies of these youth. AIRR intends to focus students through meaningful interactions with plants and animals and will emphasize the importance of healthy eating for the overall well-being and success of students.

Students will receive tutoring, homework assistance, reading instruction, and remediation from a certified teacher and will be provided practical instruction on supportable farm practices and the role food plays in their overall wellness and confidence.

The farm currently has goats, chickens, and bees. AIRR will additionally provide practical skill acquisition in beekeeping, organic farm practices, composting, recycling, animal husbandry, water conservation, and water recycling.
